Looming Prayer

This was something of an (almost) accidental shot. This little guy and a mate were extraordinarily camera shy and were making a slow motion getaway from my lens as they climbed the grevillea tree. Using my 50mm 1.8 lens with some borrowed extensions tubes, I was busy trying different settings and combinations and meant to have the flash up for this shot.
However, I think it turned out quite nicely!

Woah, the background is really cool. I like how it’s tan on one side and blue on the other.

    Hey Sam.

Great Shot mate! Although you’re right with the flash, a bit of fill flash or even some reflected natural light would have really helped this image.

That said the silhouette image is quite effective in a surreal erie sense and the mantis, to my eye is taking on a slightly sinister feel.

    Cheers
