One of my first reasonably successful attempts at an HDR shot. HDR is High Dynamic Range. Basically it involves taking the same image three times; one over exposed, one ‘normally’ exposed and one under exposed, then combining them with an HDR program.
The idea being that particularly with bright skies, you usually end up over-exposing the sky in order to expose the land properly or under-exposing the land to expose the sky properly. This is meant to combat that, though with this photo the land was always going to be black.
Sometimes they come out looking somewhat fake though…
